Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, gave a warm welcome the newly appointed Ambassador of Republic of Austria to the Kingdom of Thailand.

                    Recently, Mr.Chote Trachu, permanent secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, gave a warm welcome to Mr. H.E. Mr. Enno Drofenik who visited the ministry to pay a courtesy call on the permanent secretary and introduce himself as the newly appointed Ambassador of Republic of Austria to the Kingdom of Thailand. In this regards, Mr.Chote appreciated Austria抯 advance technology in Natural Resources and Environmental Management, for example, the isotope technology for ground water management, hydropower dam technology in the Danupe river basin as well as surface water management, particularly the tube irrigation system. Furthermore, Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha, Ambassador-designate of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Austria, used to suggest to the permanent secretary that Thailand should take Austria as an excellent example of natural resources and environmental management system.
 
                     Mr. Drofenik gratefully thanked Mr. Trachu for the great welcome and mentioned that he would be pleased to see Thailand and Austria closely work together in a subject of natural resources and environment in the future. In addition, he made a remark upon the natural resources and environment issues, sustainable development, solid waste management, renewable energy and flood protection, which are highly important in Austria.
 
                     H.E. Ambassador also inquired and expressed his concern over the absence of ethnic Karen Por Cha Lee Rakcharoen, better known as "Billy", who was last seen in Kaeng Krachan National Park area, Petchaburi. The permanent secretary informed the Ambassador that MNRE are paying full attention to the case and working closely with the Royal Thai Police to put together the team to investigate the incident.
